The history of the Argentario Sailing Week dates back to 1992 when a group of YCSS members organised a classic yacht regatta called Silver Sails. Over the next few years, the number of classic yachts increased and 1999 saw the inaugural Argentario Sailing Week take place. Traditionally scheduled towards the end of June, to take advantage of the stronger breezes, the Regatta hosts a selection of yachts belonging to Classic, Vintage, Spirit of Tradition and Metric classes and sees the participation of sailors from all over the world.
The yachts are moored along the spectacular ancient harbour of Porto San Stefano, called “La Pilarella”, where crews enjoy the historical charm of the village and its restaurants, bars and boutiques straight on the docks. Four challenging days of racing in some of the best sailing conditions in the Mediterranean combined with the famous YCSS hospitality make the Argentario Sailing Week not to be missed.
